Project Control Analyst
Overview
The Project Control Analyst provides project financial and reporting support to Division Leads. Works with Program/Project Managers and Contracts on LOC notices. Reviews project set-up for all new contracts (WBS, POP, etc.) to ensure accuracy. Works closely with Accounting and Contracts to ensure validity of data, address billing and deliverable requirements, etc. Understands the budget for each project and assists PMs with staying current on financial data relative to project. Reviews time charging for all assigned projects. Reviews expenses for each project for accuracy and correct project alignment. Reconciles actual vs. budget costs per project. Submits monthly accruals for all assigned projects. Prepares monthly reporting for the assigned Division. Reviews and works with PMs on approving all invoices prior to customer submission. Works as a part of the Accounting team on the monthly close process. Prepares monthly EACs and ETCs. Understands working at risk thresholds on each project and gets appropriate approvals as needed. Understands reporting needs of each Division and department interfacing with assigned projects. Calculates incentive awards/commissions applicable to assigned Division. Supports the Division Lead for any ad hoc reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Other duties as assigned.
What will you do?

- SUBMIT MONTHLY ACCRUALS FOR ALL ASSIGNED PROJECTS
- PREPARES MONTHLY REPORTING FOR THE ASSIGNED DIVISION
- REVIEW AND WORK WITH PMS ON APPROVING ALL INVOICES PRIOR TO CUSTOMER SUBMISSION
- WORKS AS A PART OF THE ACCOUNTING TEAM ON THE MONTHLY CLOSE PROCESS
- PREPARES MONTHLY EACs AND ETCs
- UNDERSTANDS WORKING AT RISK THRESHOLDS ON EACH PROJECT AND GETS APPROPRIATE APPROVALS AS NEEDED
- UNDERSTANDS REPORTING NEEDS OF EACH DIVISION AND DEPARTMENT INTERFACING WITH ASSIGNED PROJECTS
- CALCULATE INCENTIVE AWARDS / COMMISSIONS APPLICABLE TO ASSIGNED DIVISION
- SUPPORTS THE DIVISION LEAD FOR ANY AD HOC REPORTING, BUDGETING, AND FORECASTING
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in government contracting performing in a Project Control, Finance / Accounting, or related role
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with staff members at all levels within the organization
- Individuals hired into positions holding financial responsibility may be subject to a credit check
- Experience with Cognos Enterprise Reporting tool is a plus
- Exceptional Excel skills including the ability to analyze data
- Experience using CostPoint Pay
Pay
VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $85,000-$95,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
