Project Business Specialist
Emerson is seeking a Project Business Specialist for the PMO team at our Shakopee, MN location.
About the role
As a Project Business Specialist, you will direct work on complex projects and accounts by assigning work across functional areas in the company and managing the project/order schedule. You will ensure project deadlines are met and customer deliverables are accurately submitted.
Responsibilities
- Identify the information needs of each work group to ensure they are met while holding accountability for the account and project.
- Communicate with customers and Field Sales Reps via phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings professionally and in the best interests of Emerson.
- Provide pre-sale and post-sale administrative support for all Measurement products on assigned projects.
- Serve as the primary customer order contact by assisting in identifying customer requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports for all stakeholders, direct the preparation of project orders, and resolve non-standard issues throughout the project cycle.
- Execute customers’ special requirements to assure successful project order execution (inspections, documentation, special invoicing needs, etc.).
- Maintain an understanding of general business practices.
- Ensure Emerson’s standard business terms and conditions are addressed by working directly with our Terms & Conditions department.
- Demonstrate familiarity and solid understanding of the process industry.
- Utilize working knowledge of business systems, the process industry, and Import/Export compliance.
- Actively participate in process improvements utilizing Rosemount’s Quality tools.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience and an Associate’s Degree, or 6 years of experience and a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
- Individuals with temporary visas (e.g., E, F-1 including OPT/CPT, H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J, or TN) or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Order management experience.
- Experience leading customer meetings to align customer needs with business capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in timely and effective communication.

Pay
The starting salary for this role is $60,000–70,000 annually, based on skills, talent, capabilities, and experience.
