Position Summary
This individual is a producer and leads the “practice” side of the work. They are responsible for the design, deliverables (drawings and specifications) and the construction administration of the project. This would include coordination of staff and consultants. This position requires independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. They also lead the technical design aspects of a project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects for select clients
- Manage a team of 1-2 staff members
- Prepares design and construction drawings and technical specifications using information supplied by the client, project manager or data obtained from research activities
- Keeps the team appraised of design development as well as any decisions which may affect the design schedule, design budget or construction budget
- Reviews contractor submittals
- Researches materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings
- Provides potential solutions for design challenges
- Maintains project records
Position Requirements
- An accredited degree in Architecture
- Licensed preferred but not required
- 7-10 years of experience on technically oriented projects
- Excellent attention to detail with high levels of productivity
- Highly proficient in Revit and Bluebeam
- Able and willing to work independently with little supervision
- Able and willing to travel outside of local area
- Able to clearly convey information and ideas verbally and graphically
