Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe for cardiac distress symptoms, and report telemetry changes to nurses or physicians
- Administer oral and injectable cardiac medications and monitor for side effects such as hypotension or electrolyte imbalances
- Absorb and educate patients on cardiac diets, medications, fluid restrictions, and maintain clear communication with families and care teams
- Accurately document all patient care activities and observations in the electronic health record system
- Work under the supervision of other nurses and report directly to them regarding patient care issues
Qualifications
- Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current IV certification within 30 days and maintain current
- One year experience in an applicable setting
