LPN - Senior Progressive Care Unit
Description
Trinity Health Grand Rapids Hospital, 3 Lacks is a 32-bed private acute care unit serving patients aged 65 and older. It is a high-acuity unit with frequent telemetry, cardiac drips, high-flow oxygen, and Bi-PAP patients. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
What you will need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Current Practical Nurse license in the State of Michigan
- CPR or BLS Certified
What you will do
- Absorbs initial and ongoing patient assessments through observation and data collection, as directed by the RN.
- Performs delegated tasks by the RN and/or Physician, including venipuncture for specimens, initiating and discontinuing intravenous catheters, inserting and discontinuing urinary catheters, obtaining laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory procedures, conducting 12-lead ECGs, dressing changes, respiratory care, vital signs monitoring, recognizing and responding to life-threatening conditions, administering physician-directed treatments, and performing other unit-specific activities.
