LPN - Senior Progressive Care Unit

Description

Trinity Health Grand Rapids Hospital, 3 Lacks is a 32-bed private acute care unit serving patients aged 65 and older. It is a high-acuity unit that frequently accommodates patients requiring telemetry, cardiac drips, high-flow oxygen, bi-pap, and other medical interventions.

What you will need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program
• Current Practical Nurse license in the State of Michigan
• CPR or BLS Certification

What you will do

• Assists with the initial and ongoing assessment of assigned patients through observation and data collection, as delegated by the RN.
• Performs activities delegated by the RN and/or Physician, including but not limited to:
• Venipuncture for specimens including blood cultures.
• Initiates and discontinues intravenous catheters.
• Inserts and discontinues indwelling and intermittent clean urinary catheters.
• Obtains laboratory specimens and performs basic laboratory procedures.
• Performs basic bedside care and selected procedures under the supervision of the RN.
• Administers physician-directed treatments such as eye irrigation.
• Participates in unit-specific activities appropriate to the patient's condition.

Two 12-hour shifts per week
