About the role
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Programmer position in Administration Technology Services (ATS).
Responsibilities
- Provides high-level technical design, development, and support for a diverse portfolio of administrative systems.
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of applications governing Delivery Services, Parking & Transportation, and Telecommunications, as well as ATS-developed software like Central Billing.
- Utilizes C#, .NET, SQL, and more to ensure technical solutions align with the intended business use-case.
- Ensures technical solutions adhere to security best practices and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Works collaboratively with the team to ensure technical integrity and support systems within Delivery Services, Parking & Transportation, and Telecommunications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience developing software according to technical specifications, compliance requirements, and development standards.
- Experience automating information exchange and process initiation between software systems.
- Experience developing software in support of business operations.
- Knowledge of SDLC phases, models, documentation, and best practices.
- Experience with ITIL principles, processes, and API development.
- Experience with SQL, C#, .NET, MVC, XHTML, CSS, XML, and other programming languages/models used by ATS.
- Experience with security software development and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to follow a plan of action, report issues, and provide detailed status updates.
- Ability to work on multiple problems simultaneously, track items on hold, and ensure completion.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to create, maintain, reference, and utilize department documentation.
- Ability to justify work performed for customers, leaders, or auditors.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred qualifications: 3-5 years of professional experience, supervisory role with coaching and work performance assessments.
Skills
- SDLC phases, models, documentation, and best practices.
- ITIL principles, processes, and how code fits into a larger Service Value System for service delivery.
- API development, including the use of SFTP and REST Protocols.
- SQL, C++, C#, .NET, MVC, XHTML, CSS, XML, and other programming languages/models used by ATS.
- Security Software Development and Cyber Security best practices.
- Financials: Double-Book Accounting, Workday Reporting/Integrations.
- Logistics: Mail & Shipping Operations, Business Asset Management, Surplus Store.
- Utilities/Transit: Telecom Call Accounting and Parking Management.

Pay
Salary range is $75,536 to $82,903. Unable to offer more than stated salary range.
