About the role
The Regional Team of FPI for the Middle and North Africa (MENA) operates from the EU Delegations to Jordan and Lebanon, working with 16 EU Delegations/Offices in the region, relevant external actors, and FPI and other services in Brussels to conceptualise, elaborate and implement activities funded through the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI-Global Europe), notably under its rapid response mechanism and its thematic pillar for the stability & peace programme. The Regional Team consists of a staff of 15 at the EU Delegations to Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
- Primarily plan and manage FPI actions in the MENA region
- Organise work independently with a strong sense of responsibility
- Adjust to multiple tasks even under tight deadlines
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably including for international crisis response contexts
- Excellent knowledge of English (essential)
- Good knowledge of French (advantage)
- Knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa region and relevant field experience in the region (asset)
- Ability to work in a team and in a multi-cultural environment
- Ability to handle issues of a sensitive political nature
- Knowledge of EU policy and programmes relevant to conflict prevention, crisis response and peacebuilding (advantage)
- If not already acquired, the selected candidate must request security clearance when taking up function
- Before taking up duties, the selected candidate must undertake Security trainings BASE and SAFE
- Complete Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) once taking up duty
