Position Summary

At Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, Program Therapists are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team for youth facing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges. They provide evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and well-being of the youth under their caseload. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, working with funding agencies, and complying with regulatory guidelines.

Daily And Monthly Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy, and mental health clinical assessments in school, community, and home settings.
  • Maintains financial viability of the program by completing, submitting, and verifying paperwork including initial assessments, treatment plans, therapy notes, and other required clinical documentation.
  • Engages in parent/guardian/caregiver interactions and intervenes in crises in a safe manner.
  • Communicates regularly with treatment team members and stakeholders through meetings and consultations.
  • Participates in peer supervision and attends meetings to advocate for youth with schools and coordinate services with community agencies.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of Montana Medicaid and YBGR's Mental Health Center Licensure rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Pass criminal and child abuse clearance as required by the State of Montana.
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited university (60 credit hour program).
  • Hold a current Montana SWLC, PCLC, MFLC, LCSW, LCPC, or MLFT license.
  • License to operate a passenger vehicle.

Required Abilities/Skills

  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with youth and families.
  • Adherence to ethical codes including The Child and Youth Worker Code of Ethics, The National Association of Social Worker Code, and The American Psychological Association Code.
  • Knowledge of behavior modification and age-appropriate youth development.
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn new software solutions.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivation, self-discipline, and diligence.
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to think collectively.
  • Values of Faith, Integrity, Relationship, and Stewardship.
