Position Summary
At Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, Program Therapists are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, providing evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and well-being of youth facing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, engaging with families, and ensuring compliance with external contracts and guidelines.
Daily And Monthly Responsibilities
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy in various settings.
- Makes mental health clinical assessments and completes paperwork including assessments, treatment plans, therapy notes, and other required documentation.
- Engages in parent/guardian/caregiver interactions and intervenes in crises.
- Maintains working relationships with treatment team members and stakeholders, attends meetings, and provides consultations.
- Participates in peer supervision and collaborates with schools, CST/IEP meetings, and community agencies.
- Maintains knowledge of Montana Medicaid and YBGR's Mental Health Center Licensure rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Age 21 or older
- Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Required (background check)
- Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or similar field from an accredited university (60 Credit Hour Program)
- Professional License: Program Therapist 1 - Current Montana SWLC, PCLC, or MFLC; Program Therapist 2 - Current Montana LCSW, LCPC, or MLFT
- Licenses to operate a passenger vehicle

- Adherence to ethical codes including The Child and Youth Worker Code of Ethics, The National Association of Social Worker Code, and The American Psychological Association Code

- Good computer skills and ability to learn new software solutions
