Position Summary
At Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, Program Therapists are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, providing evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and well-being of youth facing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges.
Daily And Monthly Responsibilities
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy, and mental health clinical assessments to youth in various settings.
- Maintains financial viability of the program by completing, submitting, and verifying paperwork including initial assessments, treatment plans, therapy notes, and other required clinical documentation.
- Engages in parent/guardian/caregiver interactions and intervenes in crises while ensuring staff and youth safety.
- Communicates regularly with treatment team members and stakeholders through meetings and consultations.
- Participates in peer supervision and attends meetings to advocate for youth with schools and coordinate services with community agencies.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Montana Medicaid and YBGR's Mental Health Center Licensure rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years old or older.
- Must have a Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance.
- Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or similar field from an accredited university (60 Credit Hour Program).
- Professional License: Program Therapist 1 - Current Montana SWLC, PCLC, or MFLC; Program Therapist 2 - Current Montana LCSW, LCPC, or MLFT.
- Licenses to operate a passenger vehicle.

- Good computer skills and ability to quickly learn and use YBGR-selected software solutions.
