Program Support Assistant
Responsibilities
- Collects, compiles and/or tracks statistical information in support of program operations.
- Tracks achievement on performance measures, goals, and objectives and receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Uses software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources to prepare reports.
- Aids in the planning, reviewing, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies.
- Retrieves a variety of computerized data, establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains program data.
- Trends issues related to program effectiveness and role implementation.
- Collaborates and communicates with Nursing Service on a variety of issues, including collecting, compiling, and reporting all information for a variety of Community Living Center.
- Communicates with a diverse population of customers that include veterans, their families, nursing staff, and other staff members from a variety of disciplines, Primary Care, medical staff, technical support staff, and Veteran Service Officers.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act of 1974, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Acts as the Records Liaison Officer (RLO) and is responsible for the full implementation of the records program at their service level.
- Maintains a complete and accurate inventory of records created and stored.
- Identifies records not scheduled for disposition and submits SF-115 forms to the VHA Records Officer for scheduling.
- Completes VA Form 7468 Request for Disposition of Records for records no longer needed for [facility] business.
- Conducts internal records reviews to ensure an effective records management program is maintained on an annual basis.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; and providing information and customer service.
