About the Opportunity
The Program Support and Communications Lead plays a vital role in supporting federal health programs and modernization efforts by coordinating project activities and facilitating clear communication among stakeholders. This position ensures efficient program execution through managing documentation, developing communication materials, and supporting stakeholder engagement, thereby contributing to the success of federal health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support Deputy Program Managers in executing federal programs and task orders.
- Coordinate project schedules, meetings, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track risks, issues, decisions, action items, and dependencies.
- Maintain project documentation repositories and reporting tools.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans and schedules.
- Create internal and external communications materials, including briefings, presentations, reports, newsletters, and status updates.
- Support stakeholder communications and engagement activities.
- Organize meetings, workshops, and working sessions with logistics and agendas.
- Facilitate note-taking and prepare meeting summaries.
- Maintain action-item trackers and decision logs, following up as needed.
- Develop status reports and performance dashboards.
- Monitor deliverable schedules and project deadlines.
- Interact professionally with government clients and support customer engagements.
- Assist in preparation for executive meetings and program reviews.
- Foster positive relationships across project teams and client organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Health, Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Organizational Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Three to seven years of experience supporting federal programs, consulting, communications, project management, or PMO operations.
- Proficiency in developing professional written communications and executive-facing materials.
- Strong writing, editing, verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience supporting project meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with federal agencies such as HRSA, HHS, CMS, NIH, CDC, or SAMHSA.
- Experience in communications, change management, PMO, or strategic initiatives.
- Skilled in creating executive-level presentations.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI, Smartsheet, Jira, or Microsoft Project.
- Experience in healthcare, public health, grants, or health services programs.
- Experience coordinating conferences, workshops, or governance activities.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
