Program Supplier Assurance Engineer onsite Tucson, AZ

About the Role
As a Program Supplier Assurance Engineer at RTX, you will ensure that high-quality parts and services are received from the supply chain. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure requirements flow down and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) meet system specifications. This role involves supplier oversight through requirements reviews, inspections, and robust containment and corrective actions for supplier-caused defects.
Responsibilities
- Review hardware, software, and service purchase requisitions or material masters for complete and correct flow-down requirements.
- Act as a technical interface between Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and suppliers on rejected materials.
- Perform defect data analysis and review with program managers and supplier management to develop supplier improvement plans.
- Lead and participate in multi-functional teams for problem resolution and continuous improvement using Six Sigma, Lean practices, and other analytical tools.
- Identify and document supplier risk; develop mitigation plans to reduce, eliminate, and prevent supplied product defects.
- Support containment activities for discrepant material with assistance from functional stakeholders.
- Support the supplier corrective action process, including review, approval, and monitoring; ensure closed-loop Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and communicate resolutions.
- Execute supplier assessment plans, ensuring flow-down of product requirements to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and statements of work.
- Interpret and ensure supply base compliance with quality requirements (Q-Notes) for production parts.
- Perform on-site source surveillance, corrective action reviews, and participate in design reviews, program reviews, process change reviews, and qualification test reviews.
- Facilitate closed-loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to enhance product/process quality.
- Conduct supplier factory process walks and risk assessments.
- Represent quality during review boards for supplier design changes, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews.
- Review internal TDP change requests, supplier change requests, and supplier Statements of Work.
- Contribute to developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supplier quality performance.
- Travel domestically up to 25% to support supplier assessments, audits, and reviews.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years of prior relevant experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, engineering, and/or supplier performance.
- Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
- Experience with statistical analysis processes and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel equations & pivot charts, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain interim U.S. government-issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to resolve technical issues related to product processes, systems, and deliverables in engineering, supply chain, and quality.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills with appropriate supervisory guidance.
- High energy, self-starter with the ability to work under general direction.
- Leadership and hands-on experience with aerospace or commercial equivalent quality tools such as FMEA, 8D investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; ability to persuade and influence stakeholders, team members, suppliers, and management.
- Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and engineering/manufacturing documents.
- Experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis.
- Experience using process improvement techniques (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, DMADV) and tools (e.g., ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis, DOE, MSA, FMEA).
- Project management experience and familiarity with AS 9100 quality management systems.
- Experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
