About the role

Lead and follow up on supplier issues to close and contain production for all suspect parts. Review supplier corrective actions and monitor until stable quality production is achieved. Collaborate with quality control, production, and other departments to ensure supplier quality improvement and stability on the production line.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and follow up on supplier quality issues.
  • Notify non-conforming reports and request initial and 8D reports from suppliers.
  • Review 8D reports for effective corrective and permanent actions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Manage supplier scorecards (NCR, PPM, delivery compliance, etc.).
  • Conduct supplier process audits; request and review periodic inspection reports and samples.
  • Report and follow up on OEM and warranty issues due to supplier problems.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile physical inventory of non-conforming parts with the G-ERP system.
  • Daily quality process management, including defect part registration in GMES and claim preparation.
  • Follow up and complete supplier-registered issues.
  • Prepare for IATF 16949 audits (non-conforming procedure by GBPMS).
  • Collaborate with quality engineers and other departments to support plant requirements.
  • Use inspection data for process improvement.
  • Maintain proper quality documentation for customer or internal audits.
  • Complete PPAP/ISIR according to plan without delay for supplier 4M/EO changes.
  • Manage EO change (review and approve supplier PPAP, follow up with related department requirements).
  • Review and approve supplier 4M requests (mass production 4M change support).
  • Manage supplier PPM monthly and provide feedback to suppliers.
  • Conduct Process Control Plan Audits (PCPA) for suppliers to maintain quality levels.

Requirements

  • 4-year technical degree in mechanical, industrial, or related quality engineering field.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality requirements, and techniques for maximizing manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Understanding of supplier parts inventory flow from purchase order to company on-hand, including defect inspection and invoice claim processes.
  • Reading comprehension and math/analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
  • Fluent in Korean and English (preferred).

Skills

  • Parts drawing analysis or GD&T.
  • Application of engineering skills and problem-solving techniques in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of environmental standards, IATF 16949, and ISO 14000.
  • Experience with auto parts quality control systems (6 Sigma, SPC, Gauge R&R).

Working Conditions

  • Hourly, full-time position primarily based in the office with occasional work on the production floor.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment; regular communication with team members.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, moving machinery, energized equipment, dust, and chemicals.
  • Occasional exposure to material flow, narrow aisles, and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequent requirement to wear PPE (safety shoes, eye protection) when on the production floor.
  • Occasional weekends and overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Mostly sitting; occasional standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Rare sensory demands: vision (near/far, depth, color), hearing/speech, smell (as relevant to safety).
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 10 lbs.
  • Rare need to work in environments subject to external temperatures.
