Program Supplier Assurance Engineer

Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid role)

U.S. citizenship is required; an active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required after day 1.

About the Role

Mission Solutions & Payloads (MSP) is seeking a Program Supplier Assurance Engineer to provide Supplier Quality support to assigned programs. You will ensure good parts and services are received from the supply chain, working collaboratively with internal teams to flow down requirements and validate Technical Data Packages (TDP). This role involves supplier oversight, defect analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Review hardware, software, and service purchase requisitions or material masters for complete and correct flow-down requirements.
• Act as a technical interface between Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and suppliers on rejected materials.
• Perform defect data analysis and review with program managers and supplier management to develop Supplier improvement plans.
• Lead and participate in multi-functional teams for problem resolution and continuous improvement, emphasizing Six Sigma, Lean practices, and analytical tools.
• Identify and document supplier risk; develop mitigation plans to reduce, eliminate, and prevent supplied product defects.
• Support containment activities for discrepant material with assistance from functional stakeholders.
• Support the supplier corrective action process, including review, approval, and monitoring; ensure containment and closed-loop Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Communicate issues and resolutions to functional stakeholders.
• Execute supplier assessment plans for programs within the business area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience.
• Experience making presentations and communicating in writing and verbally to influence stakeholders, team members, suppliers, and management.
• Experience using statistical analysis processes and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience participating in the resolution of technical issues affecting product processes, systems, and deliverables.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience exercising judgment and applying decision-making skills with minimal supervision.
• Self-starter with the ability to work under general direction.
• Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and engineering/manufacturing documents.
• Experience in failure and root cause analysis.
• Experience using process improvement techniques (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, DMADV) and tools (e.g., ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis, DOE, MSA, FMEA).
• Project management experience.
• Working experience with AS 9100 quality management systems.
• Experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $75,800 – $144,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role. The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
