About the role

The Program Supervisor I (EMYL) at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for the day-to-day operations and logistics of the East Mountain Youth Lodge (EMYL) residential milieus. This role involves hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, developing, and disciplining direct care staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and hires EMYL direct care staff and participates in recruitment events as needed.
  • Supervises and oversees the orientation and training of all Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders, and Senior Shift Leaders.
  • Works closely with and trains staff to adhere to the Lodge's mission and policies, enhancing their competencies.
  • Works with the EMYL Staffing Coordinator to manage adequate staff coverage on a 24-hour basis.
  • Provides input on staff PTO requests and assists with budgeting and tracking of line item expenditures.
  • Maintains petty cash and allowance ledgers, manages food budgets, and arranges shopping trips for residents.
  • Runs at least one Group meeting per week, provides feedback on the group component, and assists with resident treatment meetings or emergencies.
  • Handles resident grievances, runs weekly leadership team meetings, and monthly staff meetings.
  • Assists with Referral/Admissions activities as needed and maintains an on-call status for urgent staff needs or shortages.
  • Participates in annual performance evaluations of Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders, and Senior Shift Leaders.
  • May be required to work and supervise various other shifts as program needs require.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with adolescents in a similar environment.
  • AHA HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED Certification, or completed within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
