About the role
Under the direction of the Director of Administrative Operations at EMYL, the Program Supervisor I is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations and logistics of the East Mountain Youth Lodge (EMYL) residential milieus. The Program Supervisor oversees the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, developing, and disciplining of direct care staff. They ensure that all necessary documentation and procedures are in compliance with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and DCF/CSOC licensing/accreditation standards.
Hours are 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Interview and hire EMYL direct care staff; participate in recruitment events as needed.
- Supervise and oversee the orientation and training of all Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders, and Senior Shift Leaders.
- Train staff to adhere to the Lodge's mission and policies; maintain and enhance staff competencies.
- Work closely with the EMYL Staffing Coordinator to ensure adequate 24-hour staff coverage; provide input on staff PTO requests.
- Provide direct supervision to direct care staff, focusing on guidance, growth, and progressive discipline when needed.
- Engage staff using the concept of Employee Rounding.
- Assist in budgeting and tracking line item expenditures; manage a pre-approved food budget, including planning, shopping, and meal preparation.
- Maintain petty cash and allowance ledgers; track residents' clothing money, arrange shopping trips, and reconcile receipts according to finance protocols.
- Run at least one group meeting per week; provide feedback on the group component of the program and help develop a comprehensive group format.
- Participate in Community Meetings and/or Support Groups for residents and/or families.
- Ensure timely collection and accuracy of midnight census reports.
- Run weekly leadership team meetings and monthly staff meetings.
- Handle all resident grievances.
- Participate in resident treatment meetings or emergency meetings as needed.
- Assist with Referral/Admissions activities as needed.
- Maintain an on-call status (Level 3) for one-week intervals throughout the year to respond to urgent staff needs or shortages.
- Participate in the annual performance evaluations of Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders, and Senior Shift Leaders.
- May be required to work and supervise various other shifts (evenings, overnights, weekends) as program needs require.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- AHA HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED Certification (or completed within the first 90 days of employment).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years working with adolescents in a similar environment (preferred).
- LSW, LCSW, LAC, or LPC (preferred).
- CADC or LCADC or similar experience in addiction treatment (preferred for BHSU Program).
Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
Pay
Minimum annual starting rate of $79,601.60. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Some positions may also be eligible for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
