District Office, Purchasing Services – Full-time, 8 hours per day, 244 days per year. Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

About the role

The Program Reprographic Assistant performs a variety of responsible District-wide office support functions including copying, mail handling, distribution, and storage of office supplies. The role requires exercising responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of office support tasks and maintenance of related records.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical work, including typing, filing, checking, and recording information on records.
  • Operates a variety of machines, including typewriters, reprographics, stitchers, laminators, and department equipment such as cutting, stitching, collating, and binding machines.
  • Assembles, collates, staples, and packages reproduced materials.
  • Receives duplication orders/requests, adjusts copy machines for proper paper size/weight, runs required copies, bundles orders, and delivers or sends completed orders to requesters.
  • Prioritizes duplication orders/requests according to importance and time schedules.
  • Maintains copy machines in proper working order: cleans machines, adds ink/toner, and arranges preventative maintenance and repair service calls.
  • Prepares routine reports and correspondence related to assigned functions.
  • Assists other personnel to support the completion of their work activities.
  • Stands for prolonged periods and performs physical tasks including lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling materials.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior job-related experience.
  • Typing/keyboarding at 40 words per minute (official certificate required).
  • Ability to operate and maintain offset presses and bindery equipment.
  • Perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English, including correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of supplemental equipment used in binding and assembling printed materials.
  • Familiarity with District policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to the assigned area.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and make common-sense decisions.

Qualifications

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
  • Negative pre-employment drug screen test and negative TB test results.
  • Successful completion of District Proficiency Test.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Pay

Monthly salary range: $3,667 – $4,823 (Range 24). Maximum salary achieved over 8 annual steps. Includes health and welfare benefits, PERS retirement, and District-paid vacation and holidays.

Notes for current CSEA employees

Unit members seeking a voluntary lateral transfer (same job title) must be permanent employees for at least two years prior to the posting date and provide a letter of recommendation from their current supervisor dated within six months of the vacancy. Voluntary lateral transfers may be denied based on poor job performance, excessive absenteeism, or evaluation ratings of "Needs to Improve" or "Unsatisfactory." If three or more eligible unit members apply, all other candidates may be excluded from the interview process.
