Program Physician

About the role

Under the direction of the Chief of Medical Staff and the President/CEO, the Staff Physician will have ultimate responsibility for all medical aspects of the Clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and annual medical examinations and ongoing medical evaluation and treatment, either directly or through appropriate referral as specified in the contract and the Program's Procedure Manual
• Work closely with the Clinic Supervisor and counselors in assessing overall progress of patients
• Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings
• Encourage the joint effort of all staff for maximum effectiveness of the Clinic and achievement of Program goals

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut
• Adult CPR/AED or BLS certification must be obtained

Desirable qualifications

• Specialty training and certification in internal medicine or psychiatry
• Background, association, or experience with problems of addiction and/or community medicine
• Sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general lifestyle, emotional and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $150,000 - $230,000
