Program Master Scheduler

What You Will Do

The Project Scheduler shall be responsible for providing scheduling services for projects and will support related construction, design/build, and architecture and engineering projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding all aspects of the design and construction processes to develop and review schedules and integrated master schedules.
  • Developing and reviewing project management plans and providing detailed schedules, recommendations, and documentation of schedule variances.
  • Performing time impact analysis, critical path analysis, tracking changes that affect the schedule, and providing input on cost impacts associated with schedule issues.
  • Serving as the primary coordinator and integrator of all schedules for construction, fit-out, occupancy, and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) for the Redstone Facilities Services Unit.
  • Conducting schedule analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and forecasting.
  • Developing and maintaining schedules and integrated master schedules.
  • Creating Work Breakdown Structures and activity coding.
  • Incorporating schedule information from vendors (design, IT/AV, FF&E, security, move management, etc.) with general contractor schedules and master program schedules.
  • Providing detailed analysis of project schedules from inception through design phases to construction kickoff and completion.
  • Monitoring project progress and providing weekly status updates.
  • Creating schedule fragments for change or what-if scenarios.
  • Providing impact analysis of schedule changes, identifying variances and opportunities, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Utilizing schedule reporting and analysis features such as Claim Digger and time-distributed reports.
  • Coordinating meetings and briefings.
  • Organizing and maintaining data in clear, accurate formats.
  • Preparing planning documents/milestones including cost and execution milestones, construction schedules, furniture acquisition, alternative workspace design and construction, and change order management.
  • Assisting the team in gathering information and answering questions.
  • Monitoring schedule deviations and variances and assisting in developing corrective actions.
  • Performing time impact analysis and tracking changes that affect the schedule.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding.
  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or other relevant field or four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in scheduling or building construction projects, including using project management software.

Qualifications

  • Strong preference for experience with the latest versions of Primavera, Microsoft Project, or Suretrak.
  • Government construction project experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Knowledge of construction project processes and other facilities management functional areas.
  • Expertise in scheduling, critical path analysis, earned value management, and using scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 for managing tasks, collaboration, timelines, progress measurement, and report generation.
  • Experience producing and managing a resource/cost-loaded schedule for the life cycle of a construction project from concept to engineering/design, procurement, and construction.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and advanced skills in Excel for data evaluation, formulas, and metrics.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving acumen in scheduling.
  • Understanding of policies, methods, and procedures including advanced planning and scheduling techniques, risk analysis, and risk management to support project objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally with Project Managers, team leaders, subcontractors, and government customers.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
