Program Manager, Programs & AmeriCorps (STEAM Nonprofit) – Hybrid, Massachusetts

Kids in Tech · Lowell, MA · 1 mo ago
$70k–$82k/yrFull-time

About The Role

This is not a program coordinator position. The Program Manager serves as the operational leader responsible for delivering high-quality STEM programming across multiple communities while leading the implementation of Kids in Tech's AmeriCorps program. You'll oversee program operations, supervise staff, strengthen partnerships with schools and community organizations, ensure grant and AmeriCorps compliance, improve systems and processes, and drive continuous program improvement. Working closely with the Director of Strategy & Operations (and reporting directly to the Founder & CEO until that position is filled), you'll translate organizational plans into consistent, high-quality execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead school-year, after-school, summer, and community STEM programs.
  • Lead implementation of Kids in Tech's AmeriCorps program.
  • Supervise Program Coordinators and program staff.
  • Manage school and community partnerships.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation and program quality.
  • Manage program data, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operational planning for Family Tech Nights, student showcases, STEM competitions, volunteer engagement, and other community initiatives.
  • Manage program budgets, staffing, and resource management.

We're Looking for Someone Who

  • Has at least five years of progressively responsible experience managing educational, nonprofit, youth development, or community programs.
  • Has successfully supervised staff and managed multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Has personally interpreted and implemented compliance requirements in a regulated environment—not simply followed existing procedures.
  • Enjoys building systems, improving processes, and solving operational challenges.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven organizations where priorities evolve.
  • Leads through accountability, coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Important

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys owning outcomes, making decisions, and building systems—not someone looking for a coordination or administrative position. Success in this role requires operational discipline, sound judgment, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to solving problems and continuously improving how programs are delivered.

Why Kids in Tech?

This is an opportunity to join a growing organization at an exciting moment. You'll help shape the future of one of Massachusetts' fastest-growing STEM education nonprofits while making a lasting impact on thousands of young people across the Commonwealth.
