About the Role
The Program Manager of Commercial Products is primarily accountable for planning, coordinating, and managing product-related programs, initiatives, implementations, and operational workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Manages product-related programs, product launches, projects, initiatives, and workstreams to ensure timely, coordinated, and effective execution across the product lifecycle
- Develops and manages product program plans, including scope, objectives, requirements, milestones, timelines, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and success measures
- Develops full-scale project plans, including defining project tasks, timelines, resource requirements, budget needs, and resource allocation
- Manages program governance, status reporting, issue escalation, change requests, implementation decisions, stakeholder communications, and post-implementation follow-up
- Serves as a product subject matter expert, ensuring product decisions, requirements, documentation, timelines, risks, dependencies, stakeholder communications, and deliverables are aligned, accurate, compliant, and completed on time
- Pairs closely with leadership, internal cross-functional departments, external vendors, and market-facing teams to support successful product outcomes and continuous improvement across assigned products and programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five years of related work experience in program management, project management, product management, health program administration, product operations, health plan operations, benefit administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience managing cross-functional programs, projects, or operational initiatives involving scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, stakeholder communications, implementation activities, and reporting.
- Experience supporting healthcare products, health programs, vendor-supported services, operational initiatives, or business process improvement efforts.
- Strong program and project management skills, including planning, execution, facilitation, risk management, issue resolution, stakeholder engagement, and status reporting.
- Working knowledge of health insurance products, health programs, benefit administration, product operations, healthcare delivery, or related business functions.
- Knowledge of vendor management principles, operational performance monitoring, and service delivery management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate program performance, business impacts, operational effectiveness, financial results, utilization trends, and customer needs.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop executive summaries, business cases, decision-support materials, training content, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to create professional presentations, reports, dashboards, training materials, and executive-level communications.
