Program Manager (Fraud and Safety)

About the Role

As a Program Manager in Airbnb's Fraud and Safety Operations Team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of our Defense systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation of programs/initiatives that will impact the way we deliver a Trusted user journey and customer experience for Airbnb hosts and guests. You will support with creating, managing, and maintaining the roadmap of key programs/initiatives ensuring alignment with Airbnb's business objectives. You will drive end-to-end delivery for products that make Airbnb a safe and reliable platform. Working closely with the Senior Manager and cross-functional or organizational teams, you will collaborate on the design and execution of transformative Fraud and Safety Operations solutions. Your ability to empathize with Airbnb's host and guest and ask probing questions will be crucial in unlocking more value for hosts and guests and ensuring that Airbnb remains at the forefront of the industry. You will report to the Senior Manager for Fraud and Safety Operations Program Management. This role will require strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for working closely with many cross functional stakeholders. Your ability to inspire and motivate others will be essential in fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

About You

• You have experience partnering with management and cross-function/domain colleagues to deliver strategic objectives that have material impact on key business metrics
• You have a proven track record of launching complex products (platform technology, ML) in highly constrained environments through the full scope of the product development lifecycle
• You have phenomenal problem solving skills
• You are detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to identify and manage blocking issues
• You build great relationships and can understand issues impeding alignment across cross-functional teams and can propose a way forward
• You enjoy learning how products are built and run, and can distill complex systems and processes into simple written and verbal communications
• You are excellent at ensuring teams are focused on delivering what matters most

Responsibilities

• Build relationships within the Fraud and Safety Operations team and with peers across Airbnb to facilitate successful delivery of the roadmap
• Manage program / initiative roadmap, consistently evaluating new potential entrants to ensure alignment with goals
• Understand how initiatives and projects contribute to overall strategic priority metrics. Aid in the teams understanding of key metrics and how initiatives on the roadmap contribute to overall goals
• Track critical milestones to ensure progress is being achieved and report out on progress against roadmap
• Engage with cross functional team members to support resolution of issues impeding progress
• Lead program team driving cross-functional programs from concept through launch
• Leverage your deep understanding of key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience driving complex technical cross-functional programs
• Expert understanding of project management and maturation fundamentals
• Excellent communication, engagement and leadership influence skills
• Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment where communication with multiple groups and stakeholders is imperative
• Thrives in ambiguity and expertly brings order to chaos
• Professional Program Management certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience preferred
