About the role

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a Program Manager to support day-to-day operations at our Burlington County Shelter. Reporting to the Program Director, this role is part of the facility’s treatment team and provides hands-on leadership for Care Managers and assigned staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Care Managers and assigned staff including recruitment support, interviewing, hiring coordination, training, evaluating, and scheduling
  • Provide regular supervision sessions and complete staff performance evaluations
  • Assist the Program Director with on-site training and staff development; assess training needs and ensure attendance
  • Create monthly staff coverage schedules and arrange call-outs/emergency coverage as needed
  • Serve in an on-call capacity—respond to pages/calls and provide emergency coverage when required
  • Oversee ongoing facility safety and security, including sign-in/sign-out procedures and resident accountability
  • Ensure proper orientation of new residents and staff
  • Ensure fire safety compliance, schedule regular inspections, and support life-safety standards
  • Support facility cleanliness and ensure adequate meals are available for clients
  • Conduct or support facility contraband searches under the Director’s supervision
  • Document maintenance needs and life-safety equipment issues per Central Maintenance policy
  • Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll/timekeeping and personnel actions within required timeframes
  • Oversee bed arrangements for new residents and resident transfers within the shelter
  • Oversee medication monitoring and documentation in the Medication Log; ensure daily shift change processes occur
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate House Meetings
  • Collaborate with outside agencies (with Director approval) to meet facility needs
  • Provide direct support to the Program Director and complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Minimum 2 years human services experience and 2 years previous supervisory experience
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills; basic computer experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to handle Protected Health Information and comply with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
