About the role
As a program management specialist, you’ll implement and maintain organizational programs in support of our space portfolio. You’ll work with key stakeholders to review risks, assist in the management of contracts, and track project costs. You’ll help with tactical planning and regularly interact with customers, software engineers, AI/ML subject-matter experts, and program managers. The role requires translating complex technical discussions into clear project milestones to advance strategic goals, anticipating operational needs, and creating structural solutions such as workflow templates, tracking tools, and dynamic dashboards.
Responsibilities
- Support programs from concept to completion, ensuring productive paths through careful analysis and effective communication
- Review risks and assist in contract management
- Track project costs and support tactical planning
- Interact with customers, software engineers, AI/ML SMEs, and program managers
- Translate complex technical exchanges into clear project milestones
- Proactively identify operational gaps and create structural solutions (e.g., workflow templates, tracking tools, dynamic dashboards)
- Collaborate across multiple organizations and teams
- Author briefings and formulate responses to data calls
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense or industry information technology programs
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management or operations, including supporting highly self-sufficient technical teams
- Experience using project management tools, including PowerPoint, to communicate complex ideas
- Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, and Lean Portfolio Management practices
- Ability to be a self-starter, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Qualifications
- Experience preparing and delivering briefing reports to senior government and corporate leadership
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Visio, Tableau, or Power BI
- Ability to listen to technical and architectural discussions, follow the thread, and extract program-level impact
- Ability to leverage industry best practices and implement them within the team
- Top Secret clearance
- Master’s degree
- Program Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Release Train Engineer (RTE), or ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

Pay
Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
