About the Role

This Program Leader will be assigned to the Community Resource Center at Grayson Highway, a new community hub for programs that support mental and behavioral health, veteran and family services, and childhood development.

Responsibilities

  • Program Execution & Daily Operations
    • Coordinate and deliver daily programs, workshops, classes, and special events within the Community Resource Center, ensuring activities are implemented as scheduled, spaces are prepared, and participant experience meets County service standards.
    • Monitor program quality, participant feedback, program effectiveness, and service outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Resident & Partner Engagement
    • Serve as a front-line point of contact for residents and community partners, providing customer service, basic service navigation, and on-site coordination to support access to health, human services, and community resources.
    • Support outreach and marketing efforts by assisting with community events, distributing materials, and supporting communication efforts.
  • Scheduling, Documentation & Reporting
    • Coordinate program schedules, room usage, and activity setup in collaboration with the HHS Division Director and community partners.
    • Maintain accurate program records and documentation, including attendance, registrations, evaluations, reports, facility usage logs, and financial records.
    • Assist with cash handling, registrations, deposits, refunds, and basic financial documentation in accordance with County policies.
  • Operational Support & Quality Assurance
    • Support coordination with internal County departments and external partners operating within the Community Resource Center, ensuring smooth program execution and shared space use.
    • Assist with identifying service gaps, supporting staff and volunteer coordination, and ensuring programs align with strategic community needs and Gwinnett County priorities.
    • Assist with on-site supervision of part-time staff and volunteers as assigned.
    • Ensure compliance with County policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Public Speaking Duties
    • Community Presentations & Orientations: Deliver verbal presentations and orientations to residents, community groups, and program participants to explain available services, program offerings, facility guidelines, and how to access resources within the Community Resource Center.
    • Partner & Stakeholder Communication: Represent the Community Resource Center during meetings, workshops, and community events by speaking with nonprofit partners, County departments, and service providers to coordinate programming, clarify expectations, and promote collaborative service delivery.
    • Group Facilitation & On-Site Announcements: Facilitate group discussions, classes, or workshops and provide on-site announcements or instructions during programs, special events, and emergency or high-traffic operations to ensure clear communication, safety, and positive participant experience.

Requirements

This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after-hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Associate degree in parks and recreation, health and human services, senior services, social work, or public administration AND one year of experience in a community resource center, human services programming, public-facing service delivery in a multi-use facility, or program coordination with community partners and nonprofits.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may also be considered.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in health and human services, senior services, social work, or public administration.
    • Customer service and participant engagement in diverse populations.
    • Experience with scheduling, reporting, and basic financial or registration processes.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification.
    • Trauma-Informed Care or Mental Health First Aid training.
    • Customer Service or Conflict De-escalation Training.
    • Bilingual proficiency.

Pay

This position is classified as grade B22(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
