About the role

Responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management and oversight of assigned programs. Coordinates and supervises with faculty and staff. Accountable for the fiscal management, administration, and coordination of programs.

What a day of a Program Director, Trade and Industry looks like:

  • Develops long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Makes sure various projects are effective and comply with regulations.
  • Liaises with outside agencies or community leaders for programs and services.
  • Communicates program information internally.
  • Consults and advises within area of expertise.
  • Advises students and faculty on departmental issues and requirements.
  • Assists instructors with specific needs as requested.
  • Responds to inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources.
  • Participates in various meetings and committees.
  • Travels to meetings, between College locations, and for other purposes.
  • Promotes available student courses and programs.
  • Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly to you.
  • Coordinates the activities of one or more staff.
  • Assists in scheduling and administrative requirements.
  • Analyzes and interpret data that is regularly available on programs and performance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, four years of related experience.
    • Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
    • Skills: High level of customer service, attention to detail, effective time and task management, implementing and managing programs, interacting with diverse populations, organizing and prioritizing multiple, competing priorities, effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
    • Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Regular physical attendance required, preferred but not mandatory.
    • Education and Experience: Related experience in trades programs, earned industry-recognized credential in AWS, NIMS, HVAC Excellence, NCCER, or other trades related credential.
    • Work Environment and Physical Demand: Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds, reach and grasp objects, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand for extended periods of time, use of video display terminal, use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills, communicate information orally and in writing, receive and understand information through oral and written communication, proofread and check documents for accuracy, work a fluctuating schedule.

        Pay

        This job description is intended to be generic in nature and describe the essential functions of the job. It is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities. The minimum base pay for this position starts at $53,677.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.

        Schedule

        The College conducts its employment activity within the State of Florida except for occasional brief and temporary pre-approved periods related to college travel.
