Program Director (Hospice)

Sanctuary Hospice is seeking a Program Director to lead our hospice program in the Chicago area, focusing on growth, external market relationships, financial management, customer service, and quality care delivery. Nursing, hospice, and hospital experience is preferred.

About the role

As the Hospice Program Director, you will oversee and administer all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with hospice-specific regulations, laws, and policies, including Medicare/Medicaid matters. You will manage the local office under senior management guidance, impacting patients and families during critical times.

Responsibilities

• Partner with liaisons to build relationships with physicians, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other key stakeholders to expand reach.
• Recruit, orient, train, and evaluate qualified colleagues to build a strong team.
• Organize and supervise administrative functions of the hospice program and local operations.
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Lead day-to-day management and operations of the hospice program.
• Implement policies and procedures approved by the governing body.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or business administration preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare management, home health, hospice, or related programs.
• Two years of hospice experience with knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and Department of Aging and Disability Services regulations.
• Operations and/or sales leadership experience.
• Ability to develop and maintain community and internal relationships.
• Experience analyzing processes, managing change, and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$120,000 - $130,000 per year. The pay range is a guideline; final compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience and role responsibilities.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Territory: Chicago, Tinley Park, and Skokie.
