Position Overview
The Developmental Disabilities Division supports people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities by helping them live meaningful lives. The Program Director leads the team to achieve the organization's mission and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures a person-centered focus in care and support.
- Promotes respect and dignity for people supported.
- Supports the person’s independence, choice, and outcomes.
- Participates in the screening, admission, and discharge of people within the residence.
- Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized support.
- Encourages participation in activities of meaningful daily living.
- Provides leadership and direction through observation, mentoring, and coaching.
- Maintains all records and ensures staff are properly trained and supported.
- Manages and leads the team, providing 24-hour support in emergencies.
- Ensures the program operates within its budget.
- Partners with the Human Resources Department in hiring, developing, and retaining staff.
- Maintains compliance with OPWDD regulations.
- Ensures all health care needs are met and staff are trained.
- Ensures fire safety regulations are met.
- Ensures agency policies and procedures are followed.
- Collaborates with the Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement team.
- Monitors the program to identify areas for improvement.
- Implements and reassesses the CARF philosophy.
- Requests feedback from all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Working with people with IDD.
- Preferred Qualifications: AMAP; SCIP-R; CPR & First Aid.
- Skills: Basic computer skills (MS Office suite and Windows), Drivers License preferred.
