Program Director
Position Overview
The Developmental Disabilities Division supports people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities by helping them live meaningful lives according to their personal values. The mission is to provide quality care, access to healthcare, and a safe environment. The Program Director leads the team to enhance the quality of life for those supported.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure a person-centered focus in care and support.
- Maintain a positive climate promoting respect and dignity.
- Support people's independence, choices, and outcomes.
- Screen, admit, and discharge people smoothly.
- Encourage participation in meaningful daily activities.
- Provide prompt, efficient, and personalized support.
- Personalize the environment for people supported.
- Lead and direct the residence through various activities.
- Maintain records and ensure staff are properly trained.
- Train staff on all aspects of each person's life.
- Lead meetings with stakeholders to involve all members of the circle of support.
- Represent the division and organization in relevant committees.
- Coach and mentor staff under their supervision.
- Apply appropriate conflict resolution and crisis management techniques.
- Provide round-the-clock support during emergencies.
- Manage the program within the established budget.
- Partner with HR to hire, develop, and retain staff.
- Maintain records in compliance with OPWDD regulations.
- Ensure all health care needs are met and staff are trained.
- Ensure fire safety regulations are met.
- Follow agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement team.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience working with people with IDD.
- AMAP; SCIP-R; CPR & First Aid certification (on-the-job training provided).
- Basic computer skills (MS Office suite and Windows).
- Driver’s License preferred.
