Program Director
Altus Hospice is seeking a Program Director to oversee our Hospice Program in Waco, providing leadership for hospice agency operations with a focus on growth, external market relationships, financial management, customer service, and quality care delivery.
About the role
As the Hospice Program Director, you will oversee and administer all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with hospice-specific regulations, laws, and policies, including Medicare/Medicaid matters. You will manage the local office under senior management guidance, making a significant impact on patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Liaisons to foster relationships with physicians, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other community partners to extend hospice services.
- Hire, orient, train, educate, and evaluate qualified colleagues to build and support a high-performing team.
- Organize and supervise administrative functions of the hospice program and local operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Lead day-to-day management and operations of the hospice program, driving success through effective leadership.
- Implement policies and procedures approved by the governing body to uphold organizational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, health care, or business administration preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in health care management, home health, hospice, or related programs.
- Two (2) years of hospice experience with intimate knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and Department of Aging and Disability Services regulations.
- Operations and/or sales leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships within the communities served and across the organization.
- Skilled at establishing and maintaining working relationships with key staff, marketing contacts, and clinical teams to promote the Hospice Mission.
- Experience analyzing processes, planning improvements, supporting change, and managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
$107,000 - $130,000 per year. The pay range represents a general guideline; compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation will be discussed and confirmed during the interview process.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm with on-call responsibilities.
Territory: Temple and Waco.
