About the role
The Program Director and Instructor for the Medical Laboratory Technician Program is a full-time, 10-month position at the South Campus.
Requirements
- An earned master’s or doctoral degree.
- An ASCP BOC or ASCPi BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist.
- Three years of teaching experience.
- Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation and certification procedures.
- Educational pedagogy.
- Course Management System (i.e. Blackboard).
- Microsoft Office suite.
- Discipline-specific technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a group.
Duties
- Create and deliver learning experiences that support students in achieving the learning outcomes outlined in the Master Course Syllabus.
- Employ teaching methods to design and maintain an engaging and effective learning environment.
- Assess and Support Student Learning: Assess student progress and provide feedback to promote growth and academic success.
- Cultivate a classroom environment that reflects the college’s mission, values, and goals.
- Participate in program and discipline activities related to curriculum development and implementation.
- Contribute to program reviews and strategic planning by offering recommendations on curriculum, staffing, facilities, and equipment to support continuous improvement and future growth.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen expertise in the discipline, enhance instructional strategies, and remain informed about emerging trends in education.
- Effectively integrate relevant educational technology tools into teaching.
- Participate in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees, supporting institutional goals and initiatives.
- Maintain weekly office hours as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Perform other related duties as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
