Principal Accountabilities
- Student Organization Advising
- Serve as the primary advisor to 2 area councils, ensure successful implementation of programming and management of budget
- Work directly with student leaders on the area council through one-on-one meetings, attending events and executive board meetings.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Director, develop on-going opportunities for student leaders to engage in leadership development opportunities
- Liaise with the Student Organization Finance Office to ensure that student accounts are up to date and necessary processes are followed.
- Build, coordinate, develop, and distribute a monthly volunteer student leader newsletter to all residentially involved volunteer student leaders
- Program Development & Support
- Serve as the Chief of Staff for 2 area leadership teams by facilitating weekly meetings, providing general guidance, and providing support
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and serve as the central office supervisor for 1-2 Faculty-In-Residence Graduate Assistants
- Manage day-to-day operations of the residential areas, including updates to shared resource sites and manuals
- Contribute to the development of the residential experience through targeted partner outreach and program development
- Manage logistical support for off-campus excursions planned within the residential areas
- Organize student activities in collaboration with other members of the Residential Experience team
- Including presence and involvement at student engagement activities (e.g. Wildcat Welcome, Student Move-In, Wildcat Days, Commencement, etc.)
- Marketing & Communications
- Support marketing and communications efforts for 2 residential areas in collaboration with each Area Leadership team
- Build, coordinate, develop, and distribute a weekly newsletter for 2 residential areas
- Manage the area social media accounts for 2 residential areas, including the coordination of content, messaging, and follower campaigns
- Create and maintain websites for 2 residential areas
- Cook up and manage access and updates to residential experience platforms that support programmatic efforts (e.g., Canva, SignUp Genius, etc.)
- Campus Partnership
- With the Assistant Director, coordinate a robust and diverse slate of area programming
- Facilitate new campus-wide initiatives with academic partners
- Strengthen partnerships with external resources by defining, promoting, and marketing benefits of participation and involvement with the residential areas
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience
- 1 year program/project administration or other relevant experience
Minimum Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of collegiate student housing
- Strong problem-solving skills in the context of interpersonal and group relations, strong analytical skills, and strong oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or a related field; OR appropriate combination of education and experience
- Two or more years (at least one in a role working with residential learning communities, academic and/or non-residential learning communities, academic bridge programs, academic program enhancement or academic support programs) in a university housing operation
- Experience working with faculty
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
