About the role

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee the administrative responsibilities of the YouthCOR program at Northwood Academy Charter School (4621 Castor Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124).

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Program Manager to develop and implement high-quality programming within the Northwood Academy Charter School YouthCOR Year-Round OST Program.
  • Assist in developing a flagship program at Northwood Academy Charter School, providing on-site, hands-on learning and training opportunities for new staff to prepare them for high-quality OST programming.
  • Drive program innovation, ensuring all lesson plans and program plans are creative, grade-appropriate, and meet rigorous academic standards.
  • Fulfill material requests from staff, ensuring all staff are equipped with materials needed for high-quality programming.
  • Connect with parents on Class Dojo to provide open communication between the program and families.
  • Observe, engage, coach, and support site-based staff to ensure consistent high-quality program delivery.
  • Assess the effectiveness of programmatic activities and make recommendations for modifications.
  • Serve as a point of contact for new partnerships while maintaining strong relationships with current partners.
  • Ensure program scheduling is smooth and communication is strong.
  • Support enrollment efforts at a large program, oversee the data system for enrolling youth into CitySpan.
  • Support the Manager in maintaining an active Certificate of Compliance for licensing.
  • Oversee daily attendance, ensuring data is entered accurately and on time.
  • Manage the food program, ensuring compliance with all expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Positive Youth Development.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Elementary Education, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an out-of-school time program.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in lesson planning and curriculum development; teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a broad variety of people.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem-solve, and follow through on areas of responsibility.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with regard to recording and collecting data.

Pay

Starting rate: $19.50/hour for candidates with 3 years of experience and an Associate’s degree (salary commensurate with experience and credentials).

Schedule

  • Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Total: 31 hours per week
