Program Chair, Midwifery
The Midwifery Program in the School of Health Professions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Program Chair.
About the role
Be responsible for the overall administration and leadership of the Midwifery Program.
Develop and implement annual and long-term program goals, policies and objectives.
Prepare and monitor program budget.
Secure external funding for program operation & development.
Recruit faculty and staff, and provide development, advisement and evaluation.
Develop curriculum (including distance learning modality), and conduct implementation and evaluation.
Recruit students including selection process and advisement.
Participate in classroom teaching and clinical supervision.
Participate in College and SUNY-wide committees and professional activities.
Work in partnership with affiliated agencies, consumer and community groups and serve as primary spokesperson of program.
Demonstrate professional and scholarly endeavors as appropriate.

Requirements
PhD in midwifery or related field required.
Experience in higher education administration preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications

Skills
Knowledge of midwifery practice and education.
