About the role

Program Directors are expected to be on campus Monday through Friday, from about 8:00am-5:00pm, with some evening and weekend College events throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Quality management of the program
  • Planning, development, and implementation of curriculum in accordance with emerging trends and approval/accrediting agencies
  • Instruction each semester; face to face, online, in the classroom, clinical or lab setting
  • Collaboration with Admissions and Student Affairs staff to recruit, select, and retain students
  • Anticipating and recommending needed resources
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring program budgets and policies and procedures to guide and support the program

Physical Requirements

  • Normal or corrected auditory and visual acuity
  • Able to use standard office equipment, including computers
  • Climate controlled environment with occasional exposure to inclement weather when traveling between buildings
  • Occasional travel to other locations

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Surgical Technology Associate Degree required
  • Surgical technologist certificate required
  • Minimum 3 years current clinical experience in operating room practice in the scrub role required and/or 3 years as instructor in Surgical Technology
