Position Summary

The Niagara County Youth ACT Team is seeking a Program Assistant to support their team in delivering intensive, community-based mental health services to youth and their families. The Program Assistant will provide outstanding customer service, handle administrative duties, and assist with various program tasks.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Support administrative duties, following standard customer services protocol; demonstrate sensitivity to client trauma history, mental health issues, cultural barriers & socio-economic challenges.

  • Answer the telephone professionally, resolving or routing calls appropriately.

  • Contribute to the program's Quality Improvement process.

  • Promote the department as needed.

  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.

  • Handle various administrative tasks as needed, including mail distribution, faxing, case filing, opening and closing records, assisting staff with computer system issues, etc.

  • Be proficient in using the electronic record system.

  • Monitor and manage client data and insurance information, addressing coverage ineligibilities and problems.

  • Record and manage Medical Record Requests according to agency policy.

Minimum Requirements

  • A flexible schedule, including morning and evening availability.

  • At least two years of office experience, preferably in the human services field.

  • Ace in an associate’s degree in business, education, or related field preferred.

  • Strong computer skills; technical testing will be required during the interview process.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.

  • Experience interacting with children & adults with mental illness preferred.

Pay

Competitive Pay Range of $19.25 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience, based on a 35-hour work week.
