Job Duties
- Support the drafting, review, and negotiation of MOUs with AF region partners
- Cook up the implementation of signed MOUs, tracking progress and ensuring compliance with agreed terms
- Facilitate engagement and communication between U.S. government stakeholders and AF region counterparts
- Organize and participate in meetings, briefings, and events related to MOU activities
- Prepare reports, updates, and briefing materials for senior leadership
- Identify and address challenges or barriers to effective MOU implementation
- Deliverables: Cleared action memoranda, policy responses, implementation guidance, and related correspondence
- Policy analyses, position papers, decision-support materials, briefings, talking points, and Congressional testimony
- Global health situation assessments and portfolio analyses with actionable policy and program recommendations
- Negotiation positions, strategies, interventions, and meeting readouts for multilateral and interagency engagements
- Program effectiveness assessments and recommendations for adjustments to foreign assistance programming
- Regular progress reports and a final summary report detailing achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, sensitive, and rapidly evolving foreign policy environments
- Strong analytical, diplomatic, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior officials and advance U.S. positions across diverse international audiences
- Experience in drafting, negotiating, and implementing MOUs
- Strong understanding of diplomatic engagement and regional dynamics in the AF region
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to coordinate across multiple teams and manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in French, Portuguese, or other relevant regional languages preferred
Work Schedule and Location
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
- Location: Washington, DC
- Occasional domestic and international travel required, including travel to meetings, conferences, and multilateral engagements (25% international travel)
Clearance Requirements
- Secret clearance required
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $98,500 to $116,000 (annualized USD).
