Program Advocacy Manager
About the role
The Human Services team at Public Consulting Group (PCG) focuses on improving lives through solutions that address the needs of state and municipal human services and economic development agencies. This role involves managing Social Security Eligibility and Trust Accounting staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and leading team meetings and trainings.
Responsibilities
- Manage Social Security Eligibility and Trust Accounting staff, including direct supervision and overall leadership of team activities and outcomes.
- Direct supervision of team members including weekly check-ins, providing direction and feedback, and performance management.
- Ensure team’s compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and training materials for team functions.
- Develop and maintain a robust quality assurance process for all activities, data, and reports developed for DCF and for PCG management.
- Lead client meetings and trainings in a variety of settings.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, federal partners, colleagues, and team members.
- Collaborate with PCG staff on other teams, fostering an environment of information sharing and mutual support across teams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws and policies.
- Lead/participate in state and federal audits and reviews.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities for self and others and to delegate tasks.
- Advanced understanding of and ability to interpret relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in formal and informal settings, including customer service.
- Critical thinking for the sake of problem solving and identifying process improvements.

- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Initiative.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Microsoft Power Automate and/or strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in accounting or business.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably including supervision of staff.
- Familiarity with relevant federal programs, including Title XVI (SSI), Title II (RSDI), and Title IV-D (Child Support).
Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave. Range: $72,100 –$ 99,000.
