About the role
The A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Accounting with a primary focus on Taxation. The appointment—at the rank of Professor of Practice or Lecturer—may be for one, two, or three years, beginning July 1, 2026. Salary, teaching load, and benefits are competitive with other major research institutions and subject to final budgetary approval.
Responsibilities
- Make complex tax concepts accessible and design engaging, applied assignments.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, often with an experiential learning focus.
- Stay active in the field of taxation and related areas of accounting.
- Contribute to service within the school and university.
Requirements
- Deep practical expertise in federal taxation of pass-through entities (partnerships and S corporations), individual taxation, and tax research.
- Ability to teach courses in financial or managerial accounting, if needed.
Qualifications
- PhD in Accounting or a closely related field.
- At least five years of professional experience in taxation.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging, applied assignments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
