About the role

The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure system faculty position in Accounting at the rank of Professor of Practice. The appointment may be for one, two, or three years, beginning July 1, 2027. Salary, teaching load, and benefits are competitive with other major research institutions. Hiring is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.

Professors of Practice deliver rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses, often with an experiential learning focus, and are expected to remain active in their fields through professional and scholarly activities. Service to the Freeman School and Tulane University is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses with an emphasis on experiential learning.
  • Maintain active engagement in professional and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to service initiatives within the Freeman School and Tulane University.
  • Integrate AI and emerging technologies into coursework (highly valued).

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field.
  • Substantial record of recent professional experience, which may include CPA certification (for professionally qualified candidates).
  • Ph.D. in Accounting and active engagement in scholarly and/or professional activities (for academically qualified candidates).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate undergraduate and graduate students effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and deep knowledge of the field.
  • Collegial, energetic, and innovative approach to teaching.
