Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care - Open Ranks: Assistant, Associate, Full Professors

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for the Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care series (Open Ranks: Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical teaching to interns, residents, fellows, and postdoctoral scholars.
• Mentor students in scholarly activities and create conditions conducive to scholarly pursuits.
• Rotate and perform clinical cases at UCI Medical Center-Orange and UCI Medical Center-Irvine.
• Contribute to the department's research enterprise in perioperative care, regional anesthesia, and trauma surgery.
• Participate in service outside of teaching and clinical duties to the Department, School of Medicine, and University.

Requirements

• Fellowship trained in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine, Trauma Anesthesiology.
• Board certified in Anesthesiology at the time of application.
• Hold a license to practice medicine in the State of California by the time of appointment.

Qualifications

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree(s).

Benefits

The position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, providing for eligibility for additional compensation.

Pay

The salary range is Total Negotiated Salary (TNS), calculated based on AAMC salary benchmarks for Anesthesiology, ranging from $440,000-$575,000. The posted UC salary scales determine the base pay based on rank and/or step.

The schedule is flexible, accommodating clinical duties, teaching responsibilities, and research commitments.
