About the Role
The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at UT MD Anderson in Houston, Texas is recruiting a Medical Director of the Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia Service. This is a full-time academic anesthesiology position with a clinical faculty appointment (CFA) and an initial 85% clinical effort.
Requirements
- Fellowship specialty training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine
- Minimum of five years of experience in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine
- Demonstrated dedication to research, including leading or partnering in randomized controlled trials (RCTs), writing manuscript reviews, and contributing to original research
- Board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Active participation in the Maintenance of Certification Program or in the ABA examination system
- Unrestricted Texas medical license in good standing before onboarding
Rank-specific experience requirements:
- Assistant Professor: Minimum 2 years as Instructor or 4 years post-degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee
- Associate Professor: Minimum 5 years in rank as an Assistant Professor
- Professor: Minimum 5 years in rank as an Associate Professor
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia Service
- May be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, including routine reviews and screening
