About the role

The University of Louisville School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. The School seeks a Chair to lead the clinical, scientific, and educational programs of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, emphasizing excellence, diversity, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategy, finance, and operations of the Department
  • Lead the development of clinical centers of excellence
  • Inspire and guide groundbreaking clinical, translational, and basic research
  • Plan and guide clinical psychiatry efforts within UofL Health system

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
  • Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Proven record of financial and operational leadership
  • Strong teaching, clinical, mentoring, and research advancement skills
  • Demonstrated administrative experience, academic leadership, and ability to foster intellectual diversity and cultural richness
  • Commitment to patient care, research discovery, faculty development, and medical student education

Qualifications

  • Research interests and plans
  • Teaching interests and experience with personnel management

Skills

  • Ability to engage in collaborative research with other departments
  • Experience in clinical trials and grant writing
  • Leadership in medical student education

Pay

The salary range for this position is $X,XXX - $Y,YYY based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
