Professional Practice & Development Coordinator - Emergency Room City Campus - Per Diem

About the role

The Professional Practice and Development Coordinator supports lifelong nursing professional development, influences professional growth, and promotes the Magnet model. They foster an environment that encourages lifelong learning and integrates technology to support clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Supports the professional practice model and provides resources to achieve organizational goals.
• Establishes relationships with the nursing care team to address concerns and promote structural empowerment.
• Ensures nurses have the necessary knowledge and skills for exemplary professional practice.
• Administers, facilitates, conducts, and evaluates competency assessment programs.
• Teaches the care process and appropriate standards of practice and care.
• Develops, conducts, and evaluates unit education based on specific unit needs.
• Serves as a resource for continued learning and professional self-development for staff and peers.
• Implements and evaluates evidence-based practice to educate nurses on safe and best practices.
• Participates in nursing research activities and supports organizational research activities.
• Participates in quality improvement activities through the development and support of unit-based PDCA's.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Certification within area of specialty required within 3 years of hire.
• BLSHCP required.
• Additional certifications as identified by the unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
• 3-5 years clinical experience required.
• Knowledge of adult teaching principles required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Leadership skills preferred.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Licenses/Certifications: Certification within area of specialty required within 3 years of hire. BLSHCP required. Additional requirements as identified by the unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
• Experience: 3-5 years clinical experience required; knowledge of adult teaching principles required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Leadership skills preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
