Professional Learning Specialist (Math)
Remote position based in the United States, with strong preference for candidates located in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or Illinois.
About the role
MOGEL, on behalf of a leading education organization, is seeking a Professional Learning Specialist to support the successful implementation of a K-12 mathematics curriculum by partnering with school districts, administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about instructional excellence and adult learning. As a trusted partner to district leaders and educators, you will deliver engaging professional learning experiences, provide instructional coaching, and help schools achieve successful curriculum implementation throughout the customer lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality professional learning sessions for educators and administrators through both in-person and virtual formats
- Facilitate professional development that models instructional best practices and supports effective curriculum implementation
- Develop customized professional learning plans aligned with district goals and instructional priorities
- Prepare and personalize training materials while coordinating logistics for successful delivery
- Maintain accurate customer records, training documentation, and follow-up recommendations
- Partner closely with Customer Success, Sales, and other internal teams to provide an exceptional client experience
- Build strong relationships with district leaders, school administrators, instructional coaches, and classroom teachers
- Manage multiple client accounts and projects while meeting delivery timelines and seasonal demand
- Participate in a collaborative professional learning community by sharing best practices and continuously strengthening instructional expertise
- Contribute to additional initiatives and projects that support organizational goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of K-12 teaching experience, including experience with blended and/or online learning environments
- Current or previous teaching certification required
- High school mathematics teaching experience (grades 9–12) strongly preferred
- Experience delivering professional development, instructional coaching, or educational consulting
- Experience implementing a standards-based mathematics curriculum; experience with Illustrative Mathematics (IM) or similar problem-based curriculum is highly preferred
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other virtual collaboration tools
- Travel up to 60%, increasing to 90% during peak implementation seasons, including overnight travel
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required
