About the role
Clarkson College is seeking a Professional Development Instructor to teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) courses using approved curriculum or Professional Development courses.
Responsibilities
- Teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) course
- Teach Professional Development courses
- Ensure all instructors are certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor
- Work with a varied population of individuals
- Use classroom equipment such as computers, projectors, electronic bulletin boards, TVs, and DVD recorders
- Use medical manikins, barrier devices, and external automated defibrillators
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor certification
- Minimum two years working experience in a health care occupation or field requiring the utilization of basic life support skills
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain insurability requirements as defined by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier
- Proficient in use of classroom and course specific training materials and equipment
Qualifications
