About the role

Clarkson College is seeking a Professional Development Instructor to teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) courses using approved curriculum or Professional Development courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) course
  • Teach Professional Development courses
  • Ensure all instructors are certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor
  • Work with a varied population of individuals
  • Use classroom equipment such as computers, projectors, electronic bulletin boards, TVs, and DVD recorders
  • Use medical manikins, barrier devices, and external automated defibrillators

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor certification
  • Minimum two years working experience in a health care occupation or field requiring the utilization of basic life support skills
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain insurability requirements as defined by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier
  • Proficient in use of classroom and course specific training materials and equipment

Qualifications
