About the role
Ivy Tech Community College Evansville is seeking bilingual Latinx heritage instructors to better represent our growing Latina student population. We have part-time adjunct faculty needs across various academic areas each semester, which vary from semester to semester. This posting is intended for those interested in adjunct instructional opportunities, regardless of whether a specific position is currently open. Applying does not indicate a current vacancy or guarantee an interview. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide appropriate curriculum for the course being taught and follow curriculum content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grade records.
- Submit requested information within established deadlines.
- Be available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance.
- Address student concerns and consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues as needed.
- Meet all class requirements stipulated in the courses for which you are hired.
- Utilize technology such as LMS systems, PowerPoint, and other tools as appropriate.
- In case of emergency absence, notify the program coordinator/department.
- Conduct all activities with appreciation and respect for cultural diversity, styles, and viewpoints of each person, promoting this diversity as an integral part of the work.
Pay
$45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).
Schedule
Adjunct faculty positions typically begin at the start of one of five terms per year. Specific schedules depend on assigned classes, which may include evenings. Instruction is generally delivered in English, but Spanish-language student advising opportunities may exist.

Minimum qualifications
- Appropriate education and/or credential for the field of study; most positions require at least a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong practical knowledge of current technologies appropriate for the instructional area.
- Must be located to teach in person on the Evansville, IN campus.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in higher education.
