Production Worker/Sewer

Primary Responsibilities

• Filling: Fill the shell with fiber, place the pillow on the conveyor to be sewn, and randomly check weights on QC scales.
• Sewing: Operate single needle sewing machine or serging machine to sew all ATC pillows, and accurately sew law tags and care labels into product.
• Pillow Manufacturing: Remove filled pillow shells from conveyor belt, sew, and replace completed pillows back on conveyor belt for further processing. Replace needle and re-thread machines.
• Bagging: Remove completed pillows from conveyor belt and bag them.
• Prework: Remove packaging from finished pillows to be re-packed, make necessary changes to finished product, and price ticket bags and pillow shells. Make any changes to components needed prior to production.
• Change Overs: Follow production changeover duties in between work orders.

Safety and Equipment

• Careful and safe use of all company equipment and property.
• Report any equipment problems to immediate supervisor or the maintenance department.
• Ensure the safety of oneself and co-workers during work.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally carry, push or pull objects weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
• Ambulate or stand for twelve hours a day.
• Sit or stand and sew for a full shift.
